What I’m Reading:

The Sandman series, which is always a classic pleasure

The Barefoot Gen series which so far is very interesting and Art Spiegelman-approved.

I'm into a lot of John Irving lately, which is unusual as normally his books send me into snoozefest. Blah blah New England blah blah absent fathers blah blah.

"The Children's Hospital" by Chris Adrian. I read like 30 pages of it and then I lost it. I have no idea where this book is. Boo.

"The Little Friend" by Donna Tartt are on my bedside table.

Recently finished "Downtown Owl" by Chuck Klosterman and immediately wished he would start writing essays again. Read "Snuff" by Chuck Palahniuk, but wasn't a big fan. Prefer his older works. "What is the What" by Dave Eggers was really really really ridiculously good - I think it is probably one of the best books I've read all year.

However, my beloved Jack Bauer-type messenger bag that I've carried for the past three years is getting to be on its last strap. It's become two-toned, picking up the dye from my dark bluejeans on the back and a faded olive on the front. Tim Gunn would be horrified.

So now I need a new purse. I tend to not spend a lot of money on purses, and I buy utilitarian purses. I found this purse from moop that I want, but I shudder at the cost because I have never paid $93 for any item of clothing or accessory in my life. So. Help me buy this purse.
